Hi, my son is 7, and is COMPLETELY HYPER ACTIVE! Very smart, just on the go-NON STOP. (so 1. before anyone can say AHDH is a myth, come to my house). He has nto been “diagnosed” yet. Although you can look at him and see he is an OVERLY active child. he means well and is good, but he has no focus on things, at school, and I am really sick of asking him 17 times to do things. Which brings me here. I came accross an article on Fish oil and ADHD and wondering if anyone has A MAGIC DIET or anything. I just need him to focus when its time to focus and play when its time to play. I do not want to create a zombie nor an inactive child… Just one who listens, ahhh maybe my nerves will be a little less frazzled. So for anyone who has pointers, of any kind please let me know.

Please no bashing on my parenting skills, as this is not an act of how he was raised. Thanks.

@John - sorry to hear that John. Hope you & your family will be able to turn it into your advantage.
.
Re: ADHD - here's a link I just found this morning that might be of interest: Food preservatives proven to cause hyperactivity
.
Not easy to dodge with all the ready-to-eat food & soda drinks all around, but this is one solution to your family's problem.
.
Take care.

Fish oil against hyperacitivity? Sorry, I have a boy with this disease, and in such a situation you wouldn´t trust that as well. Whether it is a disease or just a genetic situation one can certainly discuss. But these children need a lot of care, and psychological measures. This may also include some medical treatment - not alone, but certainly its necessary. These children jump on tables in school - no chance to stop them, and certainly not with fish oil.

Who the f do you think you are to speak in that patronizing tone?

You know what: if you're majority, behave (too), just like the minority.
