Be careful, batteries nowadays are capable to explode, possibly injuring you in the process:
Too hot to handle

It seems the main causes are short-circuit (korslet), and overheating.
And it’s not limited only to cell phones – other batteries (in laptop, etc) also can explode.

So, be careful out there.
