Salah satunya adalah NoSQL.
Bukan sekali dua kali saya ditekan untuk pindah dari RDBMS / database konvensional, ke NoSQL.
Tentu saja tanpa alasan yang rasional, karena memang korban iklan.
Biasanya hanya dengan ledekan-ledekan, seperti :
"MySQL kan gratisan" (lha memangnya NoSQL tidak?) 🙂
"MySQL itu jadul, lambat banget !" (nope, bisa mencapai speed 750.000 query per detik = 3 kali lebih cepat dari NoSQL)
"Mana bisa MySQL menangani data dalam jumlah besar?" (surprise, bisa banget), dst, dst.
Kartun terlampir menampilkan salah satu kejadian yang pernah saya alami sendiri 😉 yes, it was really silly – and enrage you at the same time.
Selain NoSQL, saya juga pernah ditertawakan karena tidak menggunakan Oracle. Sekarang saya yang tertawa, karena sistem Oracle yang mereka pakai mengalami banyak masalah.
Use the best tool for the job, folks.
Jangan mau jadi korban iklan melulu. Oke ?

saya gak pernah ngulik mysql terlalu dalam, tapi abis baca kartunnya jadi penasaran pengen tau seberapa besar peran "index" dalam query di mysql dan ternyata luar biasa ya.
